There is so much to see in romantic Rome. Italian gardens are superb with their clean lines and structure. Marvel at the water features as we travel outside Rome. Stay at the 3* Hotel Villa del Parco, a 19th century art nouveau style, air-conditioned villa in central Rome. We visit glorious villas in inimitable style and enjoy sightseeing in and around Rome.

Bed and breakfast basis included at our hotel and dinner on the first night with one lunch. All rooms with private facilities. Car or mini-bus transfer from airport included, no flights. Meet at the hotel.

Comfortable coach or mini-bus transfer to gardens outside Rome on days 3 and 4. Any public transport used to get to gardens or sights within Rome is not included.

Please bear in mind that this is largely a walking tour, although we shall take rest stops frequently, Rome is hilly and a degree of mobility is required.

Itinerary

Day 1: We meet at our hotel and take a walking orientation tour of Rome taking in the famous sights. We visit Villa Borghese with its gardens and museum. Dinner is included on our first night in our hotel.

Day 2: Today we walk to Villa Doria Pamphili, then onto Orto Botanico, the botanic garden that adjoins Villa Corsinis, followed by Villa Farnesiana and Villa Sciarra.

Day 3: Today we travel to Villa d’Este and Villa Adriana in Tivoli. Lunch is included. Expect to be awed by the miraculous use of water at Villa d’Este.

Day 4: Today we head north of Rome to Villa Lante and possibly Villa Ruspoli. Villa Lante is an absolute gem and Ruspoli is only open by appointment.

Day 5: We check out of our hotel and spend our final morning at Villa Medici and take a glimpse at St. Peter’s Dome before making our separate ways home.
